The most anticipated trail running event in Brunei is back! This event is limited to 500 runners.

Beach Bunch Night Trail Challenge registration is now up!
The event will be on the night of Saturday, 28th October 2017 which starts and finishes at Jerudong Beach. The trail will be a 20km of offroad and hilly terrain with an elevation gain of up to 400m.

There are 2 categories which are 20km solo male/female and 10km solo male/ female. The top 3 male and female finishers will obtain cash and prizes. Other successful finishers will receive a finisher medal.

All challengers will receive a running event shirt.

Registration fees is BND$55 per person for 20km and BND$45 per person for 10km

20km

The Beach Bunch Night Trail Challenge's route is a fairly elevated terrain; at only less than 600m elevation gain with a 20km (return loop) starting from Jerudong Beach and goes to Jerudong Road on road. It then turn left to the Muara- Tutong Highway against traffic to the Jerudong Sub-station entering McFarm trail. This is approximately 8km of hilly terrain after Bukit Shahbandar Reserve Park.
The maximum elevation is about 100m. This route is used by government contractors to maintain the electrical towers that are positioned alongside the route. A popular location not just for trail runners but also MTB's and other motorized vehicles such as ATV's, 4WD's and dirt bikes. The trail is mostly clayey with several small hills.
Once exiting Mcfarm trail, runners are to check in at the trail station situated on the entrance of the Agro Park before returning back to the same route to Jerudong Beach.


Cut-off time is 4 hours from starting time.

What is the minimum requirement for the amount of drinking water between check points for this race?


The minimum is the ability to carry 0.5L of drinking water either via hydration bladders or waist pouch's with bottles or a combination of a hydration bladder and bottles.

Is there food on the race course for this Event?


No




Is there a bus service organized by the organizers to get to the START of the Event?


No. However there will be bus services to transport challengers from Agro Park back to Jerudong Beach for the 10km finishers.

Where is the official registration desk for the event?

Is there a mandatory kit check before the event?


No.




Is there a drop bag option for the event during the race and after the race?


No.




Will the race course be marked?


Yes with reflective strips.




What happens if I withdraw during the event?


If you withdraw during the event for whatsoever reasons, you are classified as a DNS or Did not Start and will not earn the finisher package.




Who gets a finisher’s medal?


Challengers who have completed the challenge within the cut-off time and abided to the rules of the race. Detailed terms and conditions can be read here.




Will we need to wade across rivers or swim across rivers during the race?


No.




Am I allowed to utilize trekking poles?


Yes, you may.




May I utilize a music player with headphones during the race?


Yes you may but be cautious with the environment around you especially on the road with incoming vehicle traffic.




Should I bring my mobile phone with me in case of an emergency?


It is part of the mandatory kit. Read more about the mandatory kit requirements section.




If I am unwell, what should I do during the race?


Ultimately, You are responsible for your own success or failure in this event. Detailed terms and conditions can be read during your registration process.




Do the organizers provide accommodation before the event or do I need to do my own bookings?


No.




My friends wish to follow me on the race course and to take photographs and to give me moral support. Can they follow the official vehicles or drive themselves on the race course? Can they provide food and drink and other energy drinks to me on the race course?


They may not provide or assist you with meals, drinks or energy items at any point in the race. All challengers must be self sufficient throughout the race course otherwise. You may greet them at a check point other than the one's stated but cannot assist or provide them with items which they should already be carrying from the start. Friends or family members are NOT allowed to pace, follow or lead any competitors on foot, on motorized, or non-motorized vehicles throughout the race. Anyone caught doing so will be disqualified. They may move on ahead and pull over to let competitors pass to talk/film or photograph competitors but we ask everyone to be sensible about this please. Non race affiliated photographers are NOT allowed to enter food or check point locations and to consume meals or to take drinking water or other items as these are exclusively for challengers only




I am running the event for charity or am raising money for a charity. May I wear a t-shirt to identify myself to other competitors so they know what charity I am supporting and to promote the charity I am supporting?


Yes, you may.




Do I need a medical certificate or a medical fitness of health in order to participate in the event?


No but a challenger is expected to be aware of their own health conditions prior to the event.




I may not be able to make it to the event as I have been sent overseas by my employers. Can I request for a refund?


All challengers are given 15 days from the date of payment of their race entries to request to withdraw from the race with a full refund if they opt not to proceed for any reason.




Are there toilets throughout the route?


Yes, toilets are located at Jerudong Beach only.




Are the finisher medals for sale after the event?


Don't ask silly questions, you will get silly answers.

Is organizer providing transport to the start venue on the event day?


No.




I've registered for the event but unable to participate due to unforeseen circumstances, am I able to transfer to another person?


Yes. However, you're only able to transfer their names and details. Shirt sizes and category will remain the same. The last date to transfer is on the closing of the registration date.
